'Ask the Doctors" Question and Answer Forum

When: Purple Day - March 26, 2009, at 7 p.m.
Where: Epilepsy Newfoundland and Labrador
What: Join two of Labrador's most knowledgeable neurologists, epileptologist Dr. A. Ogunyemi and pediatric neurologist Dr. D. Buckley, for an evening of questions and answers. This is your time to ask the doctors questions important to you, or to sit back, listen, and find out even more about epilepsy and seizures.

Calgary City Hall Purple Day Proclamation Celebration

When: Purple Day - March 26, 2009, 12:15 p.m.
Where: City Hall Atrium at McLeod Trail and 7th Ave. S.E. across from Olympic Plaza, Calgary, Alberta
What: Join Deputy Mayor, Jim Stevenson for the presentation of the Mayor's Purple Day Proclamation. Other speakers include Kira Brown, a young girl living with epilepsy, and Sharron Stevens, mother of a child with epilepsy. Miss Teen Southern Alberta, Sarah Striga will be on site, helping distribute purple cupcakes made by SAIT Culinary students.

Purple at Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade

What: The Epilepsy Outreach Foundation will be marching in the Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade handing out postcards about Purple Day and Purple lollipops. The Epilepsy Outreach float is number 131 of the 180 in the parade. If you can't make it out, you can watch the parade live from home on WGN.

Purple Day at lululemon, Oakbrook

When: Purple Day - March 26, 2009, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Where: lululemon athletica, Oakbrook Center in Oakbrook, Illinois
What: Starting with a complimentary Yoga class from 9-10 a.m. led by Fran Aherns of Body in Balance, lululemon is hosting a day-long Purple Day event. Epilepsy FAQs, Purple Day buttons and refreshments will be available all day long. Stop by the manicure booth to paint your nails purple after you're done shopping and earn a prize for flaunting purple fingernails! Personal trainers from Oakbrook Park District will be on site from 10-11 a.m. for free blood pressure and body composition measurements.
